Vehicles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Report

Officers mentioned they were contacted by a resident who discovered a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located numerous other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police state early analysis show the liquid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for details.

A high-ranking representative commented the attack made him stunned and had to be solved promptly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
