19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after that period of 2023.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters together, so to secure a championship is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to question if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first professional title, took control to force a decider.
Moutet defended four early break points in a close third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
