Large-scale Russian Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were injured.

The strikes follow periods of air raids in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
